Yet they were selected for the Indian team for WCT20. Also what about the failure of the "oldies' - Hayden, Gilchrist, Warne? Is it not the right time for them to go out gracefully?

Observations and conclusions are super - CSK won the final because of MI stupidity - lousy catching, Pollard`s late entry, Nayar`s stupid run out, etc was a lesson for aspiring youngsters to shhot at their own feet

you missed Dhoni's last over exploits. CSK was one good over from elimination. CSK's fortunes was barely hanging on a thread. But the Captain Marvel had other ideas and he powered his team to the Semi Finals.

I am surprised that Dhoni's reaction after winning the game against KXI Punjab is not in this list. It definitely is better than most of the mentioned moments. disappointing!

Murali's Onslaught does require a mention here. The 127 that he hit with 11 sixes was an amazing innings.

Surprised to see Dhoni's reaction after winning the last league match against Punjab, and thereby qualifying for the semi-finals. That jab to himself is the most emotion calm Dhoni has shown, and really got his team together for the semi-finals.

What about AB's catch? That was one heck of a moment! Bollinger's one similar to Hussey's was spectacular too..

This a indeed a great win for South, Chennai has done it twice, Hyderabad Once and Bangalore has finished in the top three again. One more reminder to all those foolhardy Mumbaikars who still believe that Mumbai is the cradle of Indian Cricket...NOT ANYMORE. Indian Cricket has many more gems than what Mumbai can offer. Take away Tendulkar and even a 12std school team can beat Mumbai.

I THINK THAT AB DE VILLIERS CATCH WAS ALSO PRETTY GOOD(IN FACT MUCH BETTER THAN HUSSEY'S) WHICH MADE HIM "FIELDER OF THE TOURNAMENT".

my memorable moment in the IPL final is watching a great cricketer Michael Hussey run in with a towel and drinks when Sachin got out. When was the last time we saw any of our super stars do it? Ganguly refused to carry drinks when he was 12th man in 1991-92. Wish our boys would learn this from the OZs instead of sledging.

Hayden had a good game against Delhi. But that was about it. Vijay's batting against Royals was lot more orthodox and lot better hitting. Vijay's batting that game was the best batting innings of this IPL. SRT was very good. He piled up lot of runs. But nothing spectacular. He took advantage of field restrictions well against seamers. None of his innings can be called stand out or under crunch situation. For T20 he appeared dull. He didn't do well in semis and in finals he was generally boring and to a good extent lucky to survive as long as he did. CSK bowlers were not under any pressure till he was around. Only time they appeared to be under pressure was when Pollard came in. Kallis was a more all round success than Sachin admittedly more boring than Sachin with the bat during the tournament. Sachin collected most runs. But, Kallis batted just as well and collected many wickets and in essence more valuable. One doesn't expect sachin fans to admit inferiority even if it the reality!

Aakash how about you provide real commentary and not praise the IPL ever single post. I am sick of these IPL posts, where are your posts about the technicalities of cricket? How to bat better? What terms in cricket mean? I can bet a 1000 rupees you wont allow this post to be published because i am IPL bashing, but just wanted to tell you IPL is boring and has ruined cricket in India. If you are so blind to see it, it is yours and all your readers' fault.

All five moments were superb. It helps to rise the standard of cricket and also spirit to youngersters who plays the cricket with great interest. About Hayden's mongoos bat I feel that these people are making fun of cricket. This thing should not allowed in cricket.

Good choice Aakash, add a few more. Pollard's assualt, CSK defending in semis , more so Warne's show against Deccan, Vijay's capitulation of Royals... All do worth a mention. But for me the moment of IPL was Bhajji's madness against Deccan. And word about mastreo, nothing suffices in his praise. He is above Mortals playing with him.

Nice to see "Five for keeps". For Uthappa, it would have been better if his one over game changer aginst Sreeshanth and Bret lee was mentioned and really we are going to miss his batting in T20 world cup.

I would take out Hayden's Mangoose and replace it with Dhoni's knock in Dharmasala which made them to the playoffs. I have never seen Dhoni that much pumped up.

It didnt take him 2 years to crack any sort of code Mr. Chopra, if you see his very short record before IPL I his strike rate was around 160-170 though he played only 5-6 matches. But in IPL I he wasnt fit for the most of the time he still scored at above 31/inng yeah low by his standards..same in IPL II and better in IPL III but the major difference was the team performance..earlier they couldnt gel as a team so his performance was overlooked though it wasnt as great as it is, its obvious as he is in arguably at his best but in this IPL it was his team who made his effort more special...
So you cant say it took him some time to settle into this format :P

Sachin's role in the semis and finals were a let down and not the spirit of the game (especially, given the status we accord to Sachin. The first one was the catch he claimed against Dravid and the celebrations he did. The second was when he gloved the ball to Dhoni and prefered not to walk. These two incidents have definitely dented Sachin's image. If any other cricketer had done these, they would have been ripped apart in the media. But, in this case, media have turned a blind eye.????

You missed out on the best moment. Shane Warne's ripping leg breaks in that game at Nagpur. For the way he marshalled his troops and bowled, it was the match of the tournament

One of the greatest moment in IPL 2010 is the last over performance of CSK captain MSD against Kings XI Punjab....What a reaction after hitting that huge winning hit..!!!!

Sam- you call aakash chopra a test player, "you test player" being your exact words, as though that were a bad thing. T20 has very obviously gotten to you, as it has with most of the people in India- we fail to realise what value test cricket is to us. It is the only true test of how good one is as a player- look at the top successes of all IPLs from Watson, to Gilchrist to Sachin and Kallis- much of their success is a direct result of the solid ability they have developed playing tests over the years.

And Aadiripan- Calling sachin boring. I am unabashedly a Sachin fan, and i ask you to name ONE Player in the IPL who plays shots that are as pleasing to the eye as Sachin does. And you seem to forget how effective he was in scoring at a quick pace despite not going for the big hits, again demonstrating the importance of quality to the game of cricket.

Waiting eagerly for the next test series- whites, five slips, swinging ball, batsman actually having to work for every boundary- bliss!

It is disgraceful that Sachin refused to go in the final against CSK after being caught behind. Is this what he is teaching youngsters. This shows that he plays for himself. On the other hand, Dhoni, never made it an issue though all the CSK players knew Sachin gloved.Sorry Sachin , you are national disgrace, the television replay exposed this. i think one of the best moment in this ipl was in the match between rajasthan royals & deccan chargers, in which shane warne picked 4 wickets. later on, a magnificant final over by siddarth trivedi, picking 3 wickets including the magnificant rohit sharma who was on fire. it can be called as the match of the season.

Bhajji picking up Mrs. Ambani for me was the msot memorable moment of IPL3. Such glee in her face!

The pathetic and constant jealousy of certain ppl (from a particular place) towards Sachin Tendulkar (The Greatest Batsman of all time)...is amazing.

The Best part of the IPL is actually afterwards. When the true cricket fans realise that whatever the format Sachin is the Best...and certain "fans" from certain "other places" are totally consumed with jealousy.
