The Asian Cricket Council had taken drastic action on Saturday and kicked out hosts and defending champions Nepal as well as Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Thailand after its medical board reported that all the squads from those countries contained players over the stipulated age limit. Sunday's semi-finals - Nepal v Singapore and Afghanistan v Hong Kong - were scrapped.

The victory is indeed hollow - in fact it appears that the ACC Elite Cup would be nothing short of a burlesque or a farce.
Why can't the birth dates on the passports be used as the official dates? These passports are government documents! New technology seems to be creeping into the admin side of things ofthis gamenow.
Anyway, it now seems that there is someone within the ACC who now is doing his / her job correctly and not being influenced by the countries and some unfair administrators of this game.
More change is required within the ACC group - bring in fresh and throw out the rotten????
This practice of over age players is still rampant . See recent ACC Challenge Cup headlines. Very disappointing and official documentation means nothing. Integrity means everything.
