Kenya's elite fail to inspire

Kenya's National Elite League has hardly been the success that Cricket Kenya hoped for, and with one round of matches remaining, there are three sides in with a shout of the title - but the more important question is whether anyone actually cares.

Does anyone know of these games are being televised? Because even if the tournament went off without a hitch, I can't see it being a success if there's no one to watch it.

Generally domestic sports being televised in Kenya is more an exception than the rule but thats hardly stopped Football, Rugby, Volleyball, Basketball, and now cricket from running nationwide domestic competitions. On the other hand coverage in print media has been dissapointingly inconsistent and patchy. It is sad that the Elite league has been so severely hamstrung by events out of its contol meaning (ie the political violence in Kenya making it impossible to play the 3 day matches during school holidays). Hopefully with the political situation now stabilised and the first season out of the way the second season will be more successful.
