Afghanistan win ACC Twenty20 Cup
Afghanistan have won the ACC Twenty20 Cup in emphatic style, beating the United Arab Emirates by 84 runs in the final in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
Urged on by a 1000-strong throng of supporters, the Afghans were led out of early trouble when 63 for 4 by allrounder Mohammad Nabi, whose 73 from 38 balls propelled the score to 196 for 8. A fifth-wicket partnership of 61 with Raees Ahmadzai steadied things to provide Nabi with a launching pad for his Man-of-the-Match innings which included nine sixes and four fours. A cameo from Samiullah Shenwari (29 from 14 balls) further boosted the visitors to their final. The veteran UAE offspinner Mohamed Tauqir nabbed 3 for 29 for the locals.
Sometime Afghanistan opening bowler Shahpoor Zadran perhaps consolidated his place in the team to wreck the UAE reply with three early wickets as the home side stuttered to 23 for 3. The opener Muhammad Iqbal lasted one over in which he hit 10 runs, including a six. There was just one partnership (43) of any substance in the UAE innings, between the captain Khurram Khan (34 off 18 balls) and Naeemuddin Aslam (37 from 30). Nabi took the last four wickets in nine balls to add another trophy to Afghanistan's mantlepiece.
Both sides had marched into the final with easy semi-final wins on Saturday, Afghanistan sweeping aside Kuwait by eight wickets, while the UAE routed Oman for 50 to cruise home by six wickets with almost 13 overs to spare.
Oman rebounded in the early game on Sunday to win the third place play-off against Kuwait by 23 runs.

Many congratulations to Afghan team and nation. This is a big achievement to them. It will surly help to develop cricket in Afghanistan which I am praying to be happened because they have suffered a lot from their internal problems and to promote the new talent of cricket to be another challenging side in Asia

Afghanistan is a strong team they played really well it,s amazing we do,nt have ground in Afghanistan but we can beat some stong teams we hope one day we will beat test nation also long live Afghanistan and Afghans people

i was wonder to hear the preformence of Afghan Team in the tournment because the Afghan team does not have the even cricket ground facilities in the country. i requested international community to support Afghan team for their tromendous efforts and success.

Afghanistan Cricket team has shown that Afghans are capable of doing any thing, nothing is hard to get, I wish them all best of luck in the Asian games. and wish that they beat their rivals in the upcoming games and make us proud of them as they did in the past.
As they are new and have no facilities, so I request ICC,ACC, and Afghan government to provide them all the facilities for them and give them the respect they need.
Afghanistan Team, Keep up the hard work,all afghan nation are with you, they pray for you and they are proud of you,

Congratulations to all Afghan Nation. This is amazing that Afghan Cricket team won the ACC Twenty20 cup. We don't have a single ground in the whole country, no facilities and no equipments, but yet the team produced wonderful results. We will keep parying for them to get more successes. Can't wait to see Afghan team on TV playing against test cricket teams.....

I'm so happy for Afghan cricket. If the cricket adminstrators of the world were genuinely interested in devloping the game around the world, they would get behind Aghanistan, more so than China and the USA. Having won World Cricket League Divisions Five, Four and Three (as well as gaining promotion from Division 2 to 1) and now winning the ACC T20, the Afhans clearly have potential. If Pakistan could become an elite level nation despite hardships in their nation, why not Afhanistan?

I am very pleased for the Afghan cricket team, (and supporters). I think it i samazing that they keep on winning. I think they should be in the World 20/20 & 50 over tournamants.
