Call for Entries

Here’s your chance to be a Cricinfo reporter. We're looking for fans to provide first-hand experiences of watching IPL matches at the grounds. To be considered, all you need to do is send us a couple of paras on yourself and why you are the one we can rely on. You need to live in one of the centres where the IPL matches will held.

Interesting idea, asking for 'reporters' to report on garbage. Might as well ask for reporters to write about the special olympics.

Well Mr waterbuffalo, if you think it is garbage then do not take the option. But kindly do not comment on others trying to do something that they find useful. Not when your name is waterbuffalo.

will there be any money for that reporting.

Cricinfo says: Nope. Just joy and free tickets.

well this is a good oppurtinity, but i think IPL has become more like earning money rather than showing talent.

Hey wait a minute, weren't most people let in for free last time anyways? You can't fool me Cricinfo!
Could you let us know what kind of tickets these are, where we will be seated etc. I wouldn't like to win "box" tickets only to be slapped by some VIP in the box section because he doesn't approve of my political affiliations, if you know what I mean. :-)

Hi There,

I have written couple of paras about myself in the write your piece. How do I know whether I am selected or not and would we be able to see other's entries as well?

Regards,

Kunal

Cricinfo: Hi Kunal, Trust me, you will know if you are selected. It might be hard though to see what the others have written. We got close to 500 entries, and still counting. Thanks for writing in.

Cricinfo says: No, you're not too late. We're still looking at the entries. So do feel free to join the bandwagon.

Any idea by when we can find out who all have been selected..by the way, we have to apply via the "Submit your piece" link right? cause I couldn't find any "submit your letter" link.

Cricinfo says: Hi Amber, the results of the 'Call for Entries' will be decided in about 3 to 4 weeks time. The selections will be contacted individually. And yes, the 'Submit your piece' link is the way to go. Cheers and good luck.

The Inbox will feature submissions from you with us playing gatekeeper as we do with the rest of the site. We will set no rules apart from ensuring a certain quality that you have come to associate with Cricinfo. You may write on the aspects of the game that you hold dear; about matters that rile you; about players, teams and trends; you may share your memories and views, and you may so do so in 100 words or 500. The only tip we will give you is to repeat a line from our style sheet: Brevity is not just the soul of wit, it is the heart of all writing.
