Who is Pakistan's chief selector?

We now wait for Big Mohammad Irfan to take off, another flight abandoned in the age of volcanic ash © Associated Press

Pakistan’s version of Big Bird, Mohammad Irfan, was all set for a last minute entry into the T20 World Cup. Big Irf’s story would have been a traditional and modern day triumph. Traditional in the sense that Pakistan cricket is known for launching unheard of fast bowlers onto the world stage. A modern triumph, too, as Big Irf was discovered by a fan who championed his cause via website Pakpassion.net and then continued his story on another website, Cricistan.

Pakistan’s newly installed captain, coach and chairman of selectors—let’s be clear, men with considerable international experience—decided that they wanted Big Irf to replace one of their injured pace bowlers, a surprise package indeed. Such instinctive decisions set Pakistan cricket apart from others. They lift the gloom of failure and inject hope and curiosity. This one had an added twist of incredible height. Whether Big Irf is just under seven feet tall or just over, bizarrely, nobody seems quite sure.

Mr Butt, chairman of the cricket board, galumphed into this glowing scenario and turned a fascinating decision on its head. The simple point here is that the selection process should be autonomous from the chairman of the cricket board. If he doesn’t like the decisions, he should sack the head of selectors and his panel. Mr Butt’s meddling has immediately undermined the authority of Pakistan’s new management team. A wise chairman would have supported his chosen leaders. Typically, Mr Butt decided on a show of strength, a slap down for Shahid Afridi, Waqar Younis, and Mohsin Khan.

Arguments against Big Irf’s selection have been spurious. There is scope for players outside the provisional squad to be selected. Visas can be acquired quickly, and the team may have avoided the UK because of volcanic ash in any case. The chief selector may have spoken without the approval of the rest of the selection panel, but his opinion backed by the captain and coach should have held sway. Mr Butt may have appointed Mohsin to head the selection panel but he has behaved as if he is the chief selector, Mohsin merely his vassal.

With the recent McCarthyite purge orchestrated by Mr Butt and the promise of a new start, Pakistan fans were sold the lie that higher standards were in operation. Sadly, Mr Butt has failed the first test of his new regime. It will ever be thus. Apparently, we get the leaders we deserve but not even Pakistan cricket deserves the unworthy gang that runs the Pakistan Cricket Board.

What of the fans? We now wait for Big Irf to take off, another flight abandoned in the age of volcanic ash.

i am shocked to see abdul-rehman as a replacement, what he is doing in the squad in the presence of afridi, ajmal, and hafeez. irfan was an excellent replacement. i am unable to understand ijaz butt thinking, what he is thinking about pakistan team or what he is trying to do he is thinking from stomach not from mind

Posted by: Umair Fazal at April 21, 2010 9:32 AM

Simply cant understand what will be the future of our Cricket when these things will happen... One should not cross the limits... Mr. Butt does this every time.. Its unfortunate... This system has to change... Pakistan is full of Talent but these things create gap and results in poor results...

GOD SAVE THE PAKISTANI TEAM...

Butt as to be off from the stage, as he is already failed to improved Pakistani cricket, and he is doing worse and worst, actually it the age for him to take care of his own health. Not to destroy the Pakistani cricket.

Posted by: haseeb delpihero at April 21, 2010 9:35 AM

We all know where the Butt should go. Old men who are picking there relatives to represent Pakistan and have no idea of man management can only do what they have been doing, lose the PCB money over the last 5 years which has happened. Some body should investigate the missing money first and then fire the board and bring back MoYo

Posted by: Iraslav at April 21, 2010 9:48 AM

Spot on Kamran, How Can a spinner be a replacement for a fast bolwer.
Mr. Butt and his bureaucratic management has let Pakistani fans down yet again.

Posted by: Iftikhar Abbasi at April 21, 2010 9:50 AM

shocked to see the replacement,i think shazeb hassan is the best choice to replace as we needed batsman or new comer Irfan. what the hell is doing by ijaz butt?he is responsible fully in our faliure during australia winless tour. kindly replace him to save Pakistan cricket and Yousaf should be taken back for test and odi cricket.

Posted by: Jibran at April 21, 2010 9:53 AM

Butt has got no accountability and he can do whatever he wants and that is the problem. Who will sack him?? Is it President Zardari?

Posted by: Roamer at April 21, 2010 9:55 AM

One more nail in Chairman's coffin ..... but wondering how many more nails are required ?!?!

Posted by: ilhan khan at April 21, 2010 9:58 AM

i am dissapointed, it would have been great to see irfan in action, abdur rahman has close to zero chance of playing shahzaib hasan should have been selected instead, he can also bowl couple of overs

Posted by: Sameer at April 21, 2010 10:05 AM

This is complete corruption in absense of UmarGul and Yasser Arafat,Irfan would have been an excellent choice.Pakistanis will never learn.....and cricket will finish one day

Posted by: muhammad riaz at April 21, 2010 10:21 AM

As a big fan of pakistan team, i request ijaz butt.please u are old enough.please do some rest,or you should think over your own decisions

Posted by: Zaheer at April 21, 2010 10:22 AM

Pakistan off course needed two fast bowlers in replacement of Gul and Arafat. Rehman may not even play a single match because afridi and ajmal will must be in the playing eleven and there is less chance of injury to a spinner than fast bowler.

Posted by: Raheel Masood at April 21, 2010 10:23 AM

If it walks like a hypocrite, if it talks like a hypocrite, then it must be a hypocrite! Ijaz Butt keeps blaming prior PCB regimes for a plethora of current issues, completely turning a blind eye to his contributions. What he knows about cricket compared to Mohsin, Waqar and Afridi ... one can only wonder! When will this nonsense ever end? If its Pakistan, probably never because the PCB spends obscene amounts of money every year. In this country, that means everyone wants a piece of the action, especially since there are no qualifications required ... other than the approval and support of the "Patron"! God forbid we ever get good people in place, they are not allowed to do their jobs because of bureaucrats with small egos who love throwing their weight around. Of course there is no regard for the team or what is best for the players. Its all about their protocol, their nepotism and their need for grandeur. Someone needs to do something, maybe someday, someone will. Until then, sigh!!

Posted by: Irshad Shirazi at April 21, 2010 10:24 AM

Ijaz needs to be butt(ed) out of the door.

Posted by: Sameer at April 21, 2010 10:27 AM

Cricket has never been in this state in Pakistan before...The ban to Younis and Yousif was wrong...all this indicipline has been created by the board itself and then senior plays are banned instaed...This is completeley crap..and I am afraid being an overseas Pakistani I will probably support another country as cricket is now finished in Pakistan and only dirty politics left...

Posted by: Shahzad Arif at April 21, 2010 10:40 AM

How can Ijaz Butt replace fast bowlers with a spinner? Its like saying let's replace hens with camels. Ijaz Butt is the worst person PCB could have. The quicker he leaves PCB the better it'll be for Pak. Under him I think Pak cricket has suffered way too much and it'll take years to recover all those loses and I'm not just talking about money here!

Posted by: Yasser(Canada) at April 21, 2010 10:45 AM

This is another sad day for Pakistan cricket. We talk about having the 18th amendment to block the way of dictators to rule our country. What about this dictator as a cricket chairman, who has no respect for any other official(fans are far down the tunnel).I hope someone can put some sense in the minds of the people who are operating PCB and they take a sane decision of removing BUTT.... and gurantee a bright future for the game of cricket which runs like blood in the veins of most of the Pakistanis....

Posted by: IMTIAZ AHMAD at April 21, 2010 10:50 AM

I really think that IJAZ BUTT should be sacked now.we should have a indipedent board.Selection commety should be responsible for the selection not 70 year old man who is not able to remember that if he has eaten today or not.As a fan i am suggesting that we should make a forum to appeal for changes in the board and bring professionalism in PCB.

Posted by: Mohammad Aslam Kuwait. at April 21, 2010 10:51 AM

Pakistan cricket is going to vanish soon.First the world cricket enmies of pakistan cricket want to finish Pakiatan cricket and 2nd is MR. BUTT.I do not know when Mr.BUTT will be removed from PCB.I do not critiseze any player that why Abdul Rahman is taken. But there are many fast bolwer should be inclueded instead of spiner as there are alreday 3 spiners in the team.Irfan should have been taken because of his height and of course C.Selector,Captain and coach were in his favor. These 3 definatly have seen some thing in Irfan.Any way we can only pray for Pakistan team to defend the title.Once again I will request our fast bowlers to avoid NO ball and specially wide ball. One thing more that our batsman must be given choice to play their game and no restriction. They should learn from IPL to play T20 and I think they will not disappoing the Pakistan fans.GOOD LUCK PAKISTAN TEAM.ALLAH WILL HELP YOU INSHALLAH.............

Posted by: Rohit at April 21, 2010 10:53 AM

I have been a fan of Pakistani cricket teams since the early 90s, and it was a privilege to watch Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis operate in tandem. Irfan would have been an interesting addition to the pantheon of Pakistani fast bowlers. If Waqar Younis and Aamer Sohail think Irfan is good enough to play for Pakistan, then he should be in the team.
It's about time somebody kicked Ijaz Butt's butt and kicked it big time.

Posted by: Fahad Hafeez at April 21, 2010 10:53 AM

We are going off to the WC to DEFEND our title with 3 known fast bowlers (Aamir, Razzak and Sami) and only 1 more medium pacer (Hammad Azzam) to West Indies where I believe the pitches are bouncy and bowler friendly! And as rightly it has been said by Amir Sohail, that what is the point of having a selection committee when the chairman himself is going to be deciding who is in and who is not!

Seriously, this Butt really things from his Butt!!! (No offence to any other people sharing the name).

P.S I am not suggesting that Big Irf is the next 'big thing' for Pakistan Cricket because playing domesting cricket and international cricket is very different. The whole point being that one should 'logically' think of replacing a fast bowler with a fast bowler from a selected 15 man squad.

Lets just term the situation as FAIL!!!!

Posted by: H.Malik at April 21, 2010 11:10 AM

In My humble opinion , both the Coach ( Waqar ) and Chief selector ( Mohsin ) if they have any self esteem in them , they must resign straight away . Their departure will have no effect on the team at all , the only person who may affect have some thoughts to help team chances is the 3rd of the trio Captain (Shaid) , he may decide to cling on or if he is a man of honor (as we were led to beleive ) he must also resign straight away ... and Let Mr BUTT take the honor of DEFEAT ( even before the event starts ) or Bask in reflected glory if the team even gos to the 2nd round .....
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH YOU GUYS .... SHOE SOME COURAGE AND METAL TOO .....do not bask in past glory , show your courage now and say bye bye Mr Butt have fun with your choices now ...

Posted by: Bilal at April 21, 2010 11:13 AM

A humble request for Mr Ijaz Butt:

Please leave our cricket alone.

Posted by: Umair Tariq at April 21, 2010 11:14 AM

Sack Ijaz Butt.
Mr Kamran Abbassi i would request that you hold a poll with the question "Should PCB Chairman be sacked or removed?"
And before hand I can tell you the result: 99% in favor and 1% against (this predicted result i'm as an optimistic one for the Chairman)

Posted by: Farooq at April 21, 2010 11:14 AM

Who is Pakistan's chief selector? Now Thats a million $ question :-)

Posted by: Moin at April 21, 2010 11:25 AM

Irfan should have been selected when there are already 2 best spinners and a part time spinner in the team. But if you go back to 2007, Misbah was selected ahead of MoYO and the whole world knows what happened next.

So lets see what happens

Posted by: Imran khalid at April 21, 2010 11:33 AM

Another act of extreme stupidity from Ijaz Butt.He has been doing this since he took over his job.PCB has to take a lot of blame for the way they have managed cricketing affairs over the last 1 year.Simply pathetic!

BUTT OUT!

You heard it here..you will see it when Pak Tour the UK, I will be holding the 'BUTT OUT' poster! Hope it gathers some pace wherever Pakistan play.
Pakistani cricket needs to be independant from any politics, members and staff need to be professional and held accountable.

To comment on a player like Moyo, how sad is it that this man, who has been a true great of Pakistani cricket is treated by the PCB, this alone is disgraceful. They blame the players for an issue that is within the Board and management.

Posted by: Kashef at April 21, 2010 11:55 AM

Mr. Butt seriously needs to be kicked. Go home U BUTT! Havent you made enough money. I'm sure you wont lose it overnight like you have lost your memory and competence.

Posted by: Zohaib Saleem at April 21, 2010 11:58 AM

Butt wants everything in his hands, and don't want the young talent to nurture and she their talent to the world……..Irfan could have been another Sohail Tanvir (a surprise package). Its time now that Butt sahab should be out of the board, or should be limited to his duties.

Posted by: H.Malik at April 21, 2010 12:01 PM

You think your wishes will come true .... BB's Rooh must be pulsating in her graves what has been done to Rehman Malik just days after the UN Report was out ......

Posted by: Syed Basit at April 21, 2010 12:11 PM

Oh come on you guys, stop being so pissed off, you're only ruining your day! Coz as far as I know, this idiotic 72 year old man skipping around his grave is only going to take the curses of millions of Pakistanis with himself to his grave.

It's time this ended. Hell! why shoot at the Sri Lankan team? Why not Ijaz Butt? Atleast that way, we'd still have cricket in our deprived country plus a stable board. I think Ijaz Butt is mentally ill, which does make sense if you take a look at the decisions he makes.

I don't know how long this will go on for, because, honestly, it hurts. It hurts to see that a sport we all LOVE, stay up through the a.m. hours to watch, especially here in Australia, even though we have class early in the morning...is being DESTROYED in the hands of IJaz Butt.

As for Abdur Rehman's selection? COME ON, WE PRODUCED AAMER OUT OF NOWHERE! HE DID WONDERS FOR OUR TEAM! WHY NOT ANOTHER WONDER IN THE FORM OF MOHAMMAD IRFAN? unbelievable. and very disgusting.

Time again & again you keep on making decision to disappoint us & our nation. Mr. President has turned a blind eye on the PCB because his selection is not on mark...its just sporting on of us own party member relative.
I Think its time for all Pakistani cricket lovers to take a STAND against this useless MANAGEMENT.

Posted by: Mohd Akram Khan at April 21, 2010 12:44 PM

This shows there is lot of communication gap in Pakistan Cricket. A captain is not provided choice of his own, and are replaced by choice of the chairman. Tommorrow we might see some of his relatives representing pakistan. All the best

Posted by: Emad (Canada) at April 21, 2010 12:44 PM

1) This man has been CONFIRMED to sleep during meetings.
2) This man has been CONFIRMED to have "forgotten" about scheduling an important series (Pak vs WI All Stars)
3)The ICC has confirmed that players who are not in the 30 Probables list are also ELIGIBLE to be picked (despite what Butt claims)

Can't this man be fired? I mean for God's sake enough is enough. He is a huge disaster. He has probably ensured that Pakistan will lose the T20 now, we have 4 BLOODY SPINNERS already in the squad why did we need to pick a 5th one (who's stats aren't that great either). We were in need of a FAST BOWLER!!!

Posted by: Mabsoos Ahmad at April 21, 2010 12:47 PM

Excellent article with lots of thought. The tragedy of the sub continent cricket is that "politics" the dirty game is roaming around the gentleman's game has become the matter of something.......It is good that we have had to see the true face of the cricket how it is being run. The selectors, coach and captain are just dummy and they have nothing to do except.... Somehow or the other we are still in the darkest age and we do not know what is good or bad. History reminds us that unpopular figure has always done wonders for the Pakistan Cricke and Irfan must have done something similar to that but unfortunately, it is the sad for poor Irfan and frankly speaking all over the world cricket is loosing its interest because of such kind of incidents

Posted by: Pak Fan at April 21, 2010 12:52 PM

Mr Ijaz Butt is "No Utility" to Pak Cricket. (this is what he said when he sacked Lawson as coach only after one meeting)

Posted by: farhan khan at April 21, 2010 12:52 PM

this is a another big mess in pakistan team......wat is the use of taking an oldie(abdur rehman)wen he has no international T20 experiance....irfan would have been an ideal choice and a surprise for all the competing teams who would have not worked upon him...mr.ijaz butt doesnt want our team to successfully defend the T20 title.....insha allah we all hope pakistan team wins again and comes out of all the controversies surrounding them........

Posted by: Shazad at April 21, 2010 1:04 PM

This simply validates the argument that PCB was equally responsible for the Australia debacle if not more than the players it faulted and penalized. Give me a break Younis Khan was not even on tour for most part but was handed life ban for disrupting team..huh!? The selection committee made a bit of mistake of not communicating with board but Ijaz butt made far greater by adding someone to the team who will clearly not play as asad malik pointed out in his comments.

Posted by: Jawad at April 21, 2010 1:05 PM

Afridi, Waqar and Mohsin should refuse to take the team and participate in the T20 World Cup and so should rest of the players who support them. It won't take too long for PCB to revert their decision. Not that Irfan would do heroics but at least he is a sensible replacement. IJAZ BUTT, go home and take care of your grand kids. Thye need your attention. You should be seen in Masjid and not in Gaddafi Stadium. Thanks for listening the very first time to someone else.

Posted by: Ali at April 21, 2010 1:09 PM

Taking Abdur rehman may cause us the world title and that will be all thanks to our Mr. BUTT

Posted by: jibran at April 21, 2010 1:19 PM

Same story all over again. Before Butt, there was nosy Mr. Ashraf and before Ashraf there was Sharyar Khan and General Zia. The problem lies in the improper structure of the organization that is PCB. Even India has a lot of in political influence in their Cricket but they are still able to keep it together.

Posted by: Talha Nazar at April 21, 2010 1:24 PM

I think Mr butt needs one on the butt (no puns intended).....Its preposterous to replace a fast bowler with aspinner and when you already have 3 spinners in the squad...What i belive is the case with Mr butt head(man m getting good with this butt thing :D)that the a no good medicore person has got some backing from another no good meicore person ( If its not clear I mean Zardari).....so we people can go on and on about this selection issue....but as long as Mr butt has My 10% support we cann all eat our words....!!!!!

lolz it reminded me of my old days, i was U16 camp working my azz off 3 months had training from imran khan just before we were to play karachi i was told by team manager son of a Army Brigadier wanted to join as he was opening batsman i had to give up with sorry, and wait for next change in U19 they will for sure help me getting in team ... i left cricket and got serious about my education ..lolz thanks to them today the system is same "Butt should be Butted and we let Ehsan Mani take his seat"

Posted by: Gohar at April 21, 2010 1:32 PM

Atleast butt gave afridi a cover! if he Godforbid loses the world cup!! Afridi will claim that his input wasn't included when team selection drafted!!

Posted by: Hazarewal at April 21, 2010 1:42 PM

Just like there is incompetence in the government by renaming NWFP (the most peaceful province at one time), it mirrors the level of understanding demonstrated by Ijaz Butt, after all he is appointed by the President himself. In democratic and civilized societies responsibilities are broken down to the last part so things can run the way they are intended to be. The first thing to consider is to separate cricket/sports from politics, the president/government should be looking after the country, time in and out they have proven otherwise though, so I wonder what good of a job they will do for developing cricket. Never mind PCB, the whole government regime and structure of Pakistan needs shuffling, so at least overseas people do not have to put their head down in shame when our country is made a laughing stock.

Posted by: Faizan Ahmed at April 21, 2010 1:53 PM

I have nothing against Abdur Rehman......he certainly is a very good bowler, but can somebody please tell me y has he been selected now while u already have afridi, hafeez, ajmal, fawad alam and even umar akmal can bowl............Are the heads of PCB nuts??????????

Posted by: Rizwan Shirjeel at April 21, 2010 2:02 PM

Rediculous. Mr Butt is totally one man show and he is not working for cricket but only focusing on his personal trips and packages. Don't know why cricket pundit are sitting calm and cool and not raising their concern. Pak cricket is already suffering due to security concern and Mr Big B should be sacked immediately to save the pak cricket. Let's pray for the future of our stars.

Posted by: John at April 21, 2010 2:03 PM

It is a sad moment for Pakistani cricket, trying to emerge from a spate of controversies. PCB seems to be a one-man showing, and as Aamir Sohail rightly pointed out, why have a selection committee and a Head of Selectors, if their selections are going to be over-turned by the chairman.

It would be cost-effective, if Mr. Butt decide to take care of all the duties of PCB, right from Chairman to the Peon, Selector to Maintenance, and thus make PCB cost-efficient again.

I really hope for the sake of Pakistani cricket, that self-centric power-hungry people are sacked from their position immediately.

Posted by: Rizwan Shirjeel at April 21, 2010 2:03 PM

Very rediculous. Mr Butt is totally one man show and he is doing nothing for Pak cricket. Don't know why the cricket pundits are so calm and not raising their concern on this. Everyone is waiting his chance in PCB just to make money not to work for cricket. Shame for us because Pak cricket is already suffering badly due to security concern. Lets pray for the best future of our stars who are working hardly for our country's pride.

Posted by: Sadi at April 21, 2010 2:23 PM

Mr. Butt should be fired one for all, this man have destroyed Pakistan cricket. He should be replace by Imran Khan. I believe Mohsin Khan was doing great job, as in the pass years, the player who was unfit, use to go in the trip. and then they do not play any games due to injury. So Mohsin I appreciate your great job. We should have batsmen or fast bowler as replacement, not spinner as we already have Afridi, Hafeez, Ajmal. I believe Irfan would have been good chance. I wish Pakistan Cricket Team Win the T20 World Cup.

Posted by: sibtain at April 21, 2010 2:26 PM

So, appparantly nobody except for Mr. Butt knows that Irfan's name was not in the 30 probables submitted. If that's the case then i think the chief selector, coach and the captain should be fired. But i am having a hard time believing that. So Mr. Butt who is (allegedly) known for sleeping through meetings knows about the 30 probables but the selector, coach & captain don't know about it. As far as sacking Ijaz Butt goes.. sorry folks but that's not going to happen...atleast till this government is in power.

Posted by: cricketfan at April 21, 2010 2:27 PM

what people dont understand is that we already have Asif, Muhammad Aamer, Abdul Razzak, Afridi and ajmal - there is NO need for any bowler - so even picking Irfan wont be of any use...

Posted by: Adnan at April 21, 2010 2:41 PM

How many bowlers you need in the squad, we shud've got in Shahzeb as he's the 'REAL' T20 openning batsman in Imran Nazir's absence. Salman Butt n Khalid Latif are already warming the bench for no reason. We need a realistic T20 squad for defending the title. What good can 8 bowlers do in a 14 man squad ??? We beg Ijaz Butt to leave as he's destroyed our cricket already.

Posted by: Rashid at April 21, 2010 2:41 PM

Can somebody tell me why this old man is still in charge? Who has the authority to fire him. Anybody??
What about accountibilty? The current state of Pak cricket is shameful and since Mister Butt is incharge of PCB therefore he should took full responsibility and resign.

Posted by: Azeem Dada at April 21, 2010 2:45 PM

Posted by: Alex Farooque at April 21, 2010 3:34 PM

I think we can't sack the BUTT of the problem but maybe Afridi and rest of the team (barring Abdul Rehman) can take a drastic step of totally not going to Caribbean for the tournament. BUT(T) there will be a B-team or something like this sent to the tournament, something like what West Indies went thru. For the sake of the Pakistani Cricket, we've gotta do something!

Posted by: Zafar Mushir at April 21, 2010 3:34 PM

Not sure if anyone has raised this point yet but isn't there a plan from ICC to assemble all the teams in Dubai and then do a chartered plane to caribbean to avoid the volcanic ash. If that is the case then Mohammad Asif would not be a part of Pakistan team as he cannot enter UAE. Am I missing something here?

Posted by: Mohammed Hanif at April 21, 2010 3:37 PM

I am very upset with PCP Dictator Ejaz Butt, I suggest the whole Pakistani cricket team go on strike until this ego maniac is forced to resign.
Mohammed Irfan was a perfect choice, not only he was recommended by people who know cricket plus his inclusion would have created a big buzz in the world cup.
We need to get rid off this dictator, the sooner the better.

Just to show who the elephant is in the room these sychphant cum appointees are wreaking havoc with our cricket.

I see lot of naive comments by the readers asking Butt to be fired. First of all it is falling on deaf ears and secondly That! ain't gonna happen..He has been appointed for a "reason" best known to a sociopath named Zardari.

I wish if selectors had initially picked Abdur Rehman for the selection.

The camel just does not sit in part of the world.

Ijaz will go in total humiliation. Unfortunately, it will come at the expense of Pakistan's catastrophic exit from the World Cup's first round.

Posted by: IRFAN SIDDIQI at April 21, 2010 5:39 PM

Everybody knows Ejaz Butt is responsible for Pakistan's defeat in Australia & NewZealand. Some players are punished but main culprit is there? who is continuously doing whatever he wants. Is there any rule or a person who can take care of this enemy of Pakistan cricket? He is the one who blammed Inzi of dictatorship but he didn't see the teams performance during his captainship. In all over cricket world the great players make records and get rewards but in Pakistan great cricketers always insisted to retire. Look at the end of Hanif, Miandad, Yousuf, Rashid, Waqar,Qadir, Saeed Anwar, Aamir Sohil, Shoaib Mohammad, Shoaib Akhter, Basit etc. Ejaz Butt type of people always destroy the young blood the examples are Asim Kamal, Athar Laiq, Anwar Ali, Yasir Hameed etc. I don't know who will stop the "Parchiism" from Pakistan Cricket. I think President and Prime Minister didn't care about country's name. We are out from Squash, Hockey, Snooker & now from Cricket, who will think about Pakistan?

Posted by: NU at April 21, 2010 5:57 PM

The thing is no matter what we say, it doesnt make a difference to ediot otherwise known is Butt. Kamran you put it quite rightly that any sensible chairman would go and back the decision of the people he appointed to make. But he had to show who is the boss. Words cant describe the disgust.

Ijaz Butt should be sacked, he is destroying Pakistan cricket people like him destroy hockey and squash and now cricket.

Posted by: Bakht Jamal at April 21, 2010 6:39 PM

Mr. Ijaz Butt is very rude and very egoistic person. Its not the cricket team that is to be blamed, its the board. He is taking all the balls in his hands and making his own moves without thinking about the country. I have some concerns..
What are Fawad Alam & Mohammad Sami doing in the team? And if they are giving everyone a chance, why not Shoaib Akhtar..i think some favorism is going on in the selection!

Posted by: salman at April 21, 2010 6:46 PM

Kamran: few months back you did not make a fuss about Sami's outstanding performance in his comeback game.
All of a sudden you have a grown a conscience and stick with popular demand of bringing big Irfan. That tells me the depth of analysis you have got going for yourself... Good Luck "Mr Analyst"

I fell like Butt know nothing abt cricket the way he is running all this it looks like a very common cricket fan knows cricket much more better then Butt. I think its time to say good bye to Butt but not sure who is gonna do it coz thr is no boss of i his as far as i know.

Ok i'm no fan of Ijaz Big Butt but i must say that the three amigos should have consulted with him prior to making their announcement. It is wrong for the three to try and take matters in their own hands and to side rule the board. However, Big Butt jazzy could have handled the situation better by arranging a meeting behind closed doors and telling the three of for not complying with the rules. Peace out!!!!!

I've been following Pakistan cricket for the last 30 years and can't recall a cricket board chairman worse than Ejaz Butt. He is undoubtedly the most horrible choice any Pakistan President has made ever made for a PCB Chairman!! The man has absolutely no understanding of the game and no regard for systems. He is merely a cricket-socialite who has always roamed about in corridors of criket officialdom without even a dime worth of postive contribution. Such paracites suck energy out of a vibrant cricketing system and render it useless. Make him the Chairman of Cricket Australia and give him 3 years .. and you'll see Bangladesh and Zimbabwe beating Australia in Australia !!

Posted by: m.siddique at April 21, 2010 7:40 PM

giving our comment is waste of time, no one will do ne thing, all are sailing in same boat. very unfortunate for pakistan to have such irresponsible person as chairman. i still feel imran khan is best choice for this post. he has knowledge of this game, and all player will respect him. i pray to allah sat to save pakistan.

I do smy. with Pakistani Cricket, they way they made decision is absolutely unacceptable. one of the victim is M. Who on earth put this idiot incharge. Pakistan's ability to unearth diamond fast bowlers has been replaced by its ability to find the sorriest excuses of human beings as Chairman's of the Board. From Tauquir Zia to Nasim Ashraf to Ijaz Butt - each one has outshone his predecessor in incompetence, arrogance and irresponsibility. Where do we find these guys?????

Posted by: MARLO, Copenhagen at April 21, 2010 8:26 PM

I just wonder if there isn't even one among all of mr. Butts relatives, friends or wellwishers, who has brains enough to tell him that he in the eyes of broader public has become the biggest threat to pakistan cricket. Is there no one to tell that by reducing his own staff to non-existent, he is making fool of him self. Just look at his record, the way he comes up with news of two players being investigated for fixing, and very next hour back tracking, the way punishments were announced without charges, the way he has let one of the greats of the game to retire without a farewell and in disgrace, the way he asks players to show discipline while himself having kit-kat with Miandad and board members in the press. His is a disgrace for the game of gentlemen.

Posted by: Sardar Khan at April 21, 2010 8:47 PM

I am a big fan of pak cricket team. I am afraid with the decision that made by chairman of cricket board. We should immediately remove butt and bring a professional cricketer in PCB not like an old man of 70. There is no place for rahman in a team in the present of three spiners, it would be really good to see a new fast bowler with an advantage of height.

Posted by: Kashif Amin at April 21, 2010 9:22 PM

we can grumble all we like - butt - mr butt has the backing of the president who is then going to sack him. irfan and hundreds like him have suffered over the years because they are from poor families - i wouldnt be surprised if abdur rehman has a rich pa in law like others who has lined a big pocket for his inclusion! unless and when there are strong leaders like imran we will never see a competent team on the field and will have to put up with fiasco's like the australian tour. also why havent mohsin khan, waqar younis, afridi resigned - because it will be their heads that are on the line if pakistan dont succeed. only in pakistan can we make a successful team a complete and utter failure.

Two pacemen down and the Chairman over rules his chief selector, Coach & Captain to replace a quickie and a Spinner. Nothing is impossible in Pakistan Cricket. We have a bunch of lunatics headed by Ijaz Butt, who will not rest till the final obituary is written: "Here lies the promise of cricket....buried & forgotten".

To replace a fast bowler with a spinner in a team filled with spinners already is amazaing, is pakistan going to go into the match with four spinners and one fast bowler.Butt might have played couple of international matches but he was never the chief selector of the national cricket team and he wants to behave as one !!!!!!!! Mohsin Khan should pack his bag and come back to PTV analysis in that way he will have his choice to comment on Butt:s action as he cant a t the moment,, SAAB ACHAA HAI ,,lol

With every PCB regime, we think that it cannot get any worse and yet, we find that the PCB replacements just find enough ways to spoil our theory. Now when I look back Dr. Naseem Ashraf, Tauqeer Zia, Shaharyar Khan, it just seems that Pak Cricket was better in those days. Unfortunately, I would not stand any of them in my management. These Butts must go...or at least be accountable to someone...say people of Pakistan for a change.

This is the main problem. All we do is make comments. However its time to do something of substance. Why can't we e-mail MNAs and MPAs and show our disgust at the dire situation of Pakistani cricket? We have to play politics with the politicians who have ruined Pakistan. I can assure you the opposition (in political parties) will gladly take on the cause if Pakistanis unanimously express our disgust (althouth it will also be just for their own benefit). For god sake, take pity on Pakistani team and that world champion team is so many insulted when all world's players are together playing in IPL but only Pakistani are not there. After that, in selection issues, Abdul Rehman's selection is so many surprising. There are already 3 top class spinners.

Shahzeb Hassan should not neglect at this event. He is a master blaster batsman and can prove himself as a second Umar Akmal who is a brilliant player.

Ijaz Butt is the Robert Mugabe of Pakistan cricket or should I say "RoBUTT Mugabe". He is doing to Pakistan cricket what Mugabe has done to Zimbabwe as a country. No one can remove Butt, just like no one can remove Mugabe. Butt will live to be 100 years old, so we will have to wait another 30 years for the Pakistan cricket team to be selected on merit. The guy needs to be assasinated. The sooner the better for Pakistan cricket.

I have seen Irfan bowl, he is amazing!!!! and for the stats.... during training session he gave away 9 runs in 3 overs against Afridi and Akmal !!!!!

yes, please read and read the above again. But then BUTT knows more about cricket

Why Abdur Rahman is IN? is because he is from Sialkot thats where BUTT belongs. Am I talking crap? NO SIR, because thats why Abdur Rauf, yasir hameed have been kept out.

since 1947, Pakistan has won because of fast bowlers. be it any pitch in the world!! spinners have played a supporting act. and we dont have the calibre of saqlain, mushtaq or qadir in current spinners ......means we needed a "TEAR AWAY FAST BOWLER" who could bowl 140 kph and send bouncers. thats what ATTACKING is about. sadly, we dont have gul or asif (our 02 best bowlers in last 5 years). we only have Amir. just one while we have 5 spinners because BUTT knows more than all of us. I am sooooo HAPPY that no one of you has supported BUTT. It means that our nation isnt asleep

The thing is .... they won't! Like the rest of us Pakistanis, they too are supporters of status quo. What's new...this is Mr. Butt!!!

We are where we are! So I think lets focus our mind/energy on the World Cup itself rather than BUTT. No offence to Abdur Rahman, but I am sure he is going to loose weight in this Tournament by taking drinks, towels and other stuff (gloves, pads etc.) to the PLAYING members of the T20 squad in every match and will have good exercise!

Mr. BUTT's decision is absolutely UNFAIR to both Rahman and Irfan and moreso to Pakistan Cricket!

Nevertheless, I am looking forward to support my team come what may! My playing eleven in the batting order would be:-

1. Kamran Akmal
2. Mohammad Hafeez
3. Khalid Latif
4. Umar Akmal
5. Misbah Ul Haq
6. Shahid Afridi
7. Abdur Razzak

All the decisions whether about sports or others are taken for personal interest rather than for the interest of the whole nation. Lets we (youngster) promise to be honest and fair with our profession and nation. And do something if not now, in future to make this country free of corruption and dishonesty.

Mr Butt is sinking the the pakistan cricket boat by his thinking (or lets say no thinking at all). We dont see any other chairman of cricket boards deciding on players selected by chief selectors. Instead of fining the players and banning great cricketers for discipline, we should ban the chairman. When children go to school its teacher's responsibility to discipline. Its is the failure of the leaders that they can nurture 15 players to play to their potential.

You must have read these comments. Could u find a single one admiring you for your style of management. Selectors might have done it wrong by announcing the replacements without consulting you, but diplomacy lied in approving their choices anyway and then telling them to avoid the mistake in futur. Secondly, you should know, the best managers are those who delegate powers to their staff and then keep a check on it. You need to revise your management style otherwise you are going to be the most hated cricket administrator PCB ever had.

Everyone just loves to have a go at Ijaz Butt, isnt it. Everyone just loves to sink a person already under pressure even deeper into the hole, becuz its just so easy and convenient.
The fact of the matter is that by declaring Irfan as a member of the team, the coach and chief selector breached the law that governs cricket in Pakistan. Law states that all the changes to the team will be required to be approved by the Chairman. Whether u like it or not, this is a fact. Secondly, M. Irfan was not even in the top 30 players that were selected for the T20 WC training camp, so howcome you can pick a player who was not even invited to participate in the camp in the first place. How can he so suddenly improve from being a nobody to selector's and coach's 1st choice??? Thirdly, for all of those who think they know all about the game, you cannot insert a player in the team whose name has not been included in the 30 probables that you are required to communicate to ICC, a month prior to the tournament. Irfan was not in those 30 probables so case solved. Butt was right and Coach / Selector were to emotionally charged to be concerned when making the blunder.

Posted by: Dr. Nauman Niaz at April 22, 2010 7:14 PM

Is there something sane about Pakistan cricket? Is there something sensible about cricket management? Is the Pakistan Cricket Board being run with a method and diligently by the high-salaried 'professional team'? Are the decisions taken collective and untainted and is there any delegation of power? Or is that just the old imperialistic propaganda? Why does Pakistan cricket see such an acute expression of the Pakistani frustration and self-doubt? Ijaz Butt's regime is a picture of the Pakistani game at its worst and delineates its ever-increasing malaise. What does it mean to call cricket as the nerve root of the people of this country? Is there something left in cricket that links it to the destinies of the Pakistani people? And which Pakistani people? Which Pakistan? Or rather, whose? In trying to answer these questions it seems to me losing marbles could be the only resolve. Pakistan cricket is being run with whimsicality and on the orders of quintessentially a 'genius' of a man, all-wise and wonderful? Cricket administration could be so frivolously outdated and outmoded, so inconsequential, and at the same time oblivious, double-meaning, so complex and so changeable. I do not believe this is a regime of lead. Cricket in Pakistan is desolate, beset with problems and riven by conflict-that is what makes it such an excellent mirror of the time and the place. The stresses and strains of despondency have killed the essence of cricket and destroyed it.

i think selection of both sami & abdulrehman is wrong.first there is no need of spinner when aridi, ajmal & hafiz r already in the squad.and sami is a totally useless bowler.he bowls without thinking & will offer too many runs if he plays.but there is no other option to play sami if any of the fast bowler gets injured or doesnot perform well.if they donot want to select irfan than where is chima(the best bowler of rbs t20).where is shahid nazir.there r not much chances left for pakistan to win the worldcup with salmanbutt, sami & khalid latif in the team.and kamran akmal as keeper(his keepring is no more reliable).moreover imran nazir & shahzaib out of the team.

This is absoultely rubbish decisions and management from the PCB. I live in the UK and nothing like this happens here, there are certain procedures that need to be followed and cricket should not allow politics to be involved. Firstly SHAHZAIB HASSAN was the best choice and another fast bowler from their original 20 selection should have been picked. I would like to know why did they not select these individuals they have no justifiable explanations for mistakes that they make and now they need to focus on bringing in youngsters like Shahzaib who could have made a lot of difference to the game....they will regret this decision and if none of the openers perform they should call upon the remaining 5 reserve players.

now it is high time for pakistan cricket authorities to think whether they need a cricket team or a chairman for the cricket board.

If this old man still continues as mentioned by Aamer Sohail, Pakistan will only have a cricket board but not a cricket team in the near future.

So let him play cricket games on computers and get him satisfied. for his satisfaction we can not allow him to tarnish the cricketing image of pakistan.

I think main problem with Pakistan is that the chairman post was not given to a modern day past cricketer. When the post was given to an old horse lime Mr. Butt communication and understanding level is will not be there.

So I suggest bring some one like Inzamam who understand the players requirement and on the others side value the countries' cricketing pride as well.

Please think before you take any decision Mr. Butt, you are replacing a spinner with a fats bowler. Does it make any sense? Irfan could have been a surprise package for all the teams, just like we have introduced Sohail Tanvir in 2007 world T20 and Mohammad Aamir in last world T20 that we won. Please reconsider your decision. Rameez

Who would appoint such an incompetent person to run PCB? Answer - Patron of PCB. Oh now it makes sense

Pakistan can't efford him any more we have already lost two super stars younis khan and M yousaf because of him.he is using his power in wrong way which is no good for our cricket ..

After Mujib came Zia and then Ashraf ; but now the absolute pit of humanity comes to represent his friends, guides & mentors! Talking about presidents, I personally knew Justice Cornelius, Mr Fida Hasan & Shahryar Khan. If less than perfect, they were undeniably absolute & indubitably perfect gentlemen. I have regard for his siblings but Butt has made an exit from the pale of humanity! Every nation gets the government that it deserves : and along with the government Pakistan is afflicted with this execrable PCB!!

Posted by: Masaood Yunus at April 23, 2010 2:05 PM

Isn't Waqar Younis one of the finest fast bowlers Pakistan ever produced ? His credentials in the bowling department is enough to warrant a pick like Mohd Irfan. I guess everyone else agree except Admins at PCB.
So sad, we won't see an exciting prospect atleast this time. The PCB has let their fans and players down once again.
Well .. nothing unusual !

Posted by: Maverick at April 23, 2010 3:19 PM

Selectors and Board members should primarily be ex international players. Not Idiots like Butt! Pakistan cricket is more about its political power struggle than actual cricket talent.

I've been living in AUSTRALIA which is one of the best cricket nation in the world and the general aussi opinion is PAKISTAN CRICKET is always the best to watch because each and everyone is trying to be a ONEMANSHOW,THEY CAN WIN ALL THE GAMES IF THEY WORK AS TEAM.Unfortunately we haven't find a good leader after WASIM AKRAM who can make these fellows to play as a national proud team and the most blaim goes to our selectors who doesn't need the captain opinion so why we hope that other players would care about their own captain.I don't think they can't win a game if they sincerely think that they playing for PAKISTAN NOT FOR THEMSELVES. its an absolute shocker!!!i cant believe the way this board is run..i reckon Mr.Abbasi is spot on.. i was so disappointed to know that Umar Gul was out but getting AbduR Rahman is an even bigger shock..it just goes to shows that My Butt is running a one man show as mR Aamir Sohail puts it..no wonder legendary Abdul Qadir resigned and Aamir Soahil did the same..i give one tip to PCB and the President...KICK MR BUTT out of PCB...Pakistan will rank higher in the Rankings' Table.he slammed heavy fines on the players..but he should correct himself before he does the same regarding others..poor poor management

Posted by: faisal amin at April 24, 2010 6:07 AM

This is the worse team selection ever in the history of Pakistan Cricket for any world event. T20 cricket is all about heros and confidence. You need players who got performance to back them up in these short version of the game. The team is already weakened by the absence of Imran Nazir, Malik, Rana and Gul. These are your match winners and replacing them with player who are still learning how to learn cricket will be costly. Player like Salman Butt,Khalid latif, Sami, Hafiz and Misbah-ul-Haq are struggling in all the formats of the game and yet still they are selected. Taking out personal grudges on player on trying to show command over the board will only let the downfall of the team.
Pakistan Xi for T20 World Cup 2010 as per me: Imran Nazir, Kamran Akmal (w), Shahid Afridi (C), Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Abdul Razzaq, Rana Naveed, Hammad Azam, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Aamer, Saeed Ajmal and Fawad Alam.
Would have been the winning side…Wat say???

Most of the comments posted are against butt,so is the article
But who appointed butt?
Butt is not electedbut selected by a person, who him self is under heavy allegations of corruption
Now i think so if we pakistanis support alected peoples like that so the we have to face and accept peoples like Izaj BUTT.
So comman Stop crying its all bad due to us first change your self then criticize
IZAJ butt is not the person for the post he has but ts all due to us
i hae been following pak cricket since 1985 and after the ''great imran khan'' only ''YOUNAS KHAN'' SEEMS to change the team into winning one.But he was so badly dishonored as he as the only single person responsible for the currnt leval of pak cricket.Remember Imran kha and younas khan theonly captain of pak who won world cup or anyor title.
so stop crying guys and also to you Kamran abasi if you are the supporter of LEADING PARTIES IN PAKISTAN

Dear Abbasi,

Pakistan tour to England is not far away. I like to suggest SHOIB AKHTAR as captain of test team. I always thought, if he was given responsibility then he could have been a different person. He has worked hard, lost a lot of weight is bowling fast, stays in the field throughout a hot playing day. we should have Shoaib, Asif, Aamer and Gul in a 5 men attack with afridi making it the sole spiner. SO SHOAIB IS MY CAPTAIN, AGRESSIVE/HOSTILE, PRESENTABLE, COMMUNICATIVE and in a age where he needs to prove something.

Posted by: BUFFERZONE2 at April 24, 2010 7:07 PM

Mr. BUTT might be wrong in doing what he did, but I think his choice of Rehman is just allright.
1) Irfan is not among the 5 reserve players chosen by mr. cfief selector. He is not even in a bunch of 30. it had been a unfair to not chose from the reserve 5.
2) Mohammad Irfan might have impressed coach and the captain but in pentagular cup he is been hammered for about 6 or 7 pr. over and its just 50 over match.
3) If any of the fast bowller breaks down or is doing badly then there is sami waiting on the bench to take over. we have 5 fast bowler including razzaq and hamad azam. But what if Saeed Ajmal performs badly then who will you replace him with? You surely need a spinner in playing 11.

And if we wanted to go without an extra spinner then I had wished it was Shoaib Akhtar and Shazaib Hassan. Pakistan bating is a worry and they normally never score more than 150 in 20 overs and thats not gonna be enough in WI.

Posted by: Amir Feroz at April 25, 2010 7:27 AM

Ijaz Butt is not fit for PCB, he should resign immediately and 99% people will agree on this

Posted by: Mehdi Singapore at April 25, 2010 10:52 AM

Butt Sahib. Please let cricket in Pakistan prosper. If you love our country then you will listen to the voice of the people and vacate in grace.Pakistani cricketers are very talented and need a proper PCB to guide them professionaly, please do not take unilateral decisions which harm the sentiments of the managers/selectors etc and the team.Good luck Pakistan for the T 20.

My question is as follows

How does the government allow these nonsensical bufoon jokers to run cricket?

Posted by: Jibran T. Siddiqui at April 25, 2010 1:07 PM

In the absence of Yousuf, Younis, Rana naveed and shoaib Malik, Pakistani team needs some strong support from the young. Here, hard-hitters like Shahzaib Hassan and Imran Nazir have been badly ignored. Both of them have been excellent in domestic and international T20. We all have witnessed Imran Nazir's magic in domestic RBS tournament and Indian Cricket League. On the other hand, Shahzaib Hassan has proved himself as a stylish and powerful batsman in Last T20 worldcup and RBS tournament.
All in all, they're way better options than Yasir Arafat, Fawad Alam, Mohammad Hafeez and Salman Butt. Fawad and Arafat have not yet performed in T20 format that makes Nazir's and Shahzaib's selection undeniable.

Posted by: Asif Abbas at April 25, 2010 1:09 PM

Butt shatter the hopes of Pakistan defending the championship before the event starts. Pakistan will miss good four overs spell my the "Big Irf" as he can be the best bowler on the bouncy tracks of the Caribbean as he being just under 10 feet. I would say what brought happiness to the nation after winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2009 now shows a mere possibility for that to happen. All I could say Pakistan team should make the best of the resources available to the captain and coach, they should take it over from there and make history once again as Pakistan is well capable of doing that. All the best to the team and badal do zamana !!! (y)

Posted by: mqislam at April 25, 2010 3:30 PM

Did Butt work in the Pakistan Army at any stage of his life?
Is he related to Mr 10%?
Has he ever played Cricket?
Does he understand the meaning of the word
decency?
Can Mohsin Khan follow Abdul Qadir to challenge BUTT?

When will there be an independent selection committee in Pakistan?

What is bipolar ?

Posted by: sadsad at April 25, 2010 8:34 PM

haha.nice man.he deserve it.he should go and learn how to talk first.I think currently best person for PCB be is Asif Iqbal Because he is Honest and he know the meaning of Dignity. If he gets chance i am sure he will deliver.i don't want the used Arrows (old Crikcter who got chances in management of PCB).they are fake.We need a person who know wat is self respect. The persons like Butt don't know wat is repect and pride they are just puppets of (patron). Why the hell pakistani nation watches follows them.Do they (so called Chairmen and Patron) care abt criket? They just care abt themsleves nothing more.Pathetic decisions are coming again and again from barracks of PCB but patron is showing faithfulness to his personal relation instead of Pakitan's Benefits. Why don't patron through him out of office. They just know how to eat PCB money by creating Commities commities and traveling.Do they know management?

Posted by: Aamir Khan at April 25, 2010 10:03 PM

What you expect from Butt who was appointed by Zardari (Mr.10%) who can't manage Pakistan. Remember your leader comes from you......

Posted by: Naveed Khan at April 26, 2010 5:01 AM

Who is Pakistan's Chief Selector? It is clear it President Zardari. Zardari selected Butt and protects Butt from all charges of incompetence and Butt has his go at everything. He makes all the final decisions and is answerable to no one. He is not answerable to millions of Pakistan Cricket Fans, spread across the globe. He is playing havoc with Pakistan Cricket and does not take responsibility for any omissions and commissions. He points fingers at others for the failure of PCB. Mr. Butt, we know Zardari protects you, may be Mr. Zardari receives some kickbacks from PCB. When was the last time PCB audited? Please Mr. Butt, spare us the torture of seeing the complete ineptness and incompetence of PCB. Please leave Pakistan Cricket. Don't you have any conscious, don't you have your own legacy to protect. I know you do not care about Pakistan and Pakistan Cricket, but please protect your reputation.

Posted by: bikbik at April 26, 2010 5:27 AM

Mr Butt should be sacked first, if not Pakistani people shud cum to road to make him gone. What a joke he is doing with cricket nd the Fans of Pakistani Crickets around the globe.

Posted by: Nagesh Pai at April 26, 2010 7:08 AM

India or Pakistan the Cricket Boards are same...The power and greed which is heady cocktail has always messed up the subcontinent cricket....Pakistani cricketers are most exciting to watch especially their fast bowlers....Tremendously gifted players...Hope the good survives and Pakistan Cricket becomes much stronger from here on....World cricket needs them...

Posted by: Taahir at April 27, 2010 5:36 PM

I and many other supporters of Pak cricket in South Africa have come to one definate conclusion that Pak cricket will not progress as long as an inapt Mr.Ijaz Butt is at its helm. What is the purpose of a selection committe if he decides to over-rule their decisions??Unfortunately whatever he touches turns to disater!!!He would be better advised to join a gym and lose some weight it may help his thinking and longevity

Posted by: Shakaib at April 28, 2010 9:12 AM

Mohammad Irfan should be in the T20 2010 world cup probably after selecting their own favourites, there was no space left for the deserved person. Batting department is already weak and bowling department has not been strengthened. Inclusion of Irfi in the team would have made us all proud including the selectors.

Dear Sir:

Why Afridi did not allow Abdul Razaq for bowling -why he was playing... when afrid and sami was give hard time why afridi allowed himself and allowed sami for the second and third overs.. why this was not given to Abdul Razaq.. where was Waqar Younus I saw him he was sitting and scratchng his bear... why not a messsage sent to afrid or it should be pre planned or pre advised to his as to be honest afridi is good but he is stupid at the same time..as his brain does not work most of the time...

please take a note of this defeat... which is due to afridi... he did not bat well he did not ball well... also why you people are keeping asif what you will do for him???
