Spinner curry
In the Age, Peter Hanlon concocts a new recipe for Matthew Hayden’s next cookbook: Spinner Curry.
Ingredients: onions, olive oil, curry paste, tomatoes (tinned), stock, sweet potato, green beans (chopped), rice, a spinner. (NB: spinner does not need to be fresh).Haydos says: "I used to love hopping into this when Warney was around — it had so much spice and fizz and bounce, and meaty chunks you could really get your teeth into! I'm not sure what's happened of late, but it's been as bland as an Adelaide Oval wicket. You wouldn't waste a good poppadum on it."
