Australia stuck in the middle with Hughes
Peter Roebuck watched Phillip Hughes and Ricky Ponting bat together in Durban and says the pair, rookie and veteran, seemed to enjoy batting together, not so much to rub salt into wounds as for the sheer pleasure. While Ponting was in complete command of the bowling, himself, his team and his opponents, Hughes learnt a lot from him, not least about singles and single-mindedness.
