Bangladesh trio join Mohun Bagan

Three Bangladesh players - Mashrafe Mortaza, Tamim Iqbal and Mahbubul Alam - have signed on with Kolkata-based club Mohun Bagan. With the latest recruits the team now has five overseas players: only yesterday did they confirm the signing of Sri Lankans Chaminda Vaas and Tillakaratne Dilshan.

After Bagan's signing of Vaas and Dilshan, an emergency meeting of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) was called to discuss the participation of foreign players. However, to the club's relief, the association has permitted the use of overseas players for this season. While the Bangladeshis and Dilshan are busy with national commitments, Vaas will turn out for the team on January 16 in the quarter-final of a local Twenty20 tournament.
