No surprises with the result on Saturday, and no complaints either.
What has been surprising though are the recent performances of Jody Craddock.
Most of us, including me, thought the veteran defender deserved a new contract at the end of last season.
Few of us thought he’d be anything more than a squad player though.
In recent games he’s proved himself to be an integral part of this team.

A lot of teams go to Stoke, lose a goal from a long throw, let their heads drop and leave the Potteries with nothing.

Wolves' comeback to grab a point at such a diffuclt hunting ground at the weekend made me beam with pride.

McCarthy's men might not be as techinically gifted or as incisive as other teams, but few can match their character.

Before I start, I want to make it clear that I think 1-1 was a fair result on Saturday. We whould have had a penalty early on, but Villa also had one turned down that should have been given. What I want to talk about is the nature of that decision that went against us.

Doyle was pulled off the ball - simple as that - but he did everything he could to stay on his feet and as a result, the ref didn't give a penalty. If he goes down in that situation, then the ref - who had a clear view - has to give it.

Writer of the world's first football chant Edward Elgar, Led Zep frontman Robert Plant, soul star Beverley Knight, Olympic gold medalist Denise Lewis, energetic rabbit The Duracell Bunny and now homeless busker turned folk star Seasick Steve . . . Wolves fans one and all.

Yep, this weekend Steve told the morning TV show Something For The Weekend that he supported Wolves.
A lot of talent but years of heartache and struggle before now finally enjoying time in the limelight.
He's perfectly matched to the club.

I can't remember a time when Wolves were good at defending or taking free kicks and corners.
Some of our rivals to stay in the Premier League are experts at both.
We need to sort it out before it hurts us even more that it has already.

Is there a harder working attacking partnership in world football than Andy Keogh and Kevin Doyle?
I don’t think so. It’s rare to find two strikers so willing to run the channels, track back and tirelessly make themselves available for the ball, however many times it doesn’t come to them.
As Mick McCarthy said after the brilliant 2-1 win against Fulham – “Why do Manchester United win games? Because they work hard.”
And that’s how we can stay up this season. There are good reasons why we can’t be the most skillful team in the league, or the cleverest with the ball. But there is no reason at all why we can’t be the hardest working.

Perhaps I’m being greedy but I fancied six points from our first four games. I’ll take four though.
If we hit that total every month we’ll get the magic 40 points that usually guarantees survival.

And the three Ms – Morgan, McCarthy and Moxey – have made some last minute signings that we can be exited about too.

Money can buy you skill, creativity and class. It can't buy you bottle.

That's why Man City won't make the top four this season. They haven't got the heart.

Pace, energy, hustle, tactics, finishing . . . Wigan 0 - Wolves 1

We can play at this level alright. Bring on Mercenary City!

Every year the promoted teams are told the same things about the step up to the top flight.
Mistakes get punished, you have to take your chances because you don't get many, yadda yadda.
Trouble is, no matter how many times it is said, it doesn't make a blind bit of difference on the pitch.
Saturday was a case in point.
